Regular Season Round 12: Haskovo 2012 - Neftochimic 98-95

The most exciting game of round 12 in the NBL took place in Haskovo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Neftochimic (8-4) to first ranked Haskovo 2012 (11-1) 98-95 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Neftochimic. Haskovo 2012 forced 29 Neftochimic turnovers. 34 personal fouls committed by Neftochimic helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Mali forward Meiya Tirera (186-86) who had a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. American guard Lia Galdeira (180, college: Washington St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Tamara Bajic (175-87) who recorded 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Teodora Dineva (178-96) added 18 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Four Neftochimic players scored in double figures. Neftochimic's coach Detcho Koeshinov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Haskovo 2012 have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record. Neftochimic at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Dunav 8806. Haskovo 2012 are looking forward to face Beroe (#5) in Stara Zagora in the next round. Neftochimic will play at home against Levski and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
