Regular Season Round 15: Konyaspor - Trabzonspor 70-73

A very interesting game took place in Konya. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 11th ranked Konyaspor (6-8) to thirteenth ranked Trabzonspor (7-8) 73-70 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Konyaspor. It looked good early as Konyaspor took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Trabzonspor took control getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. Trabzonspor players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Polish power forward Damian Kulig (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. American-Congolese point guard Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) accounted for 21 points and 5 assists for the winning side. American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) came up with 26 points and the other American import forward Sean Williams (208-86, college: Boston Coll.) added 14 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Konyaspor in the defeat. Trabzonspor moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Konyaspor at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Trabzonspor's next round opponent will be higher ranked Galatasaray (#3) in Istanbul and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Konyaspor will play at home against the league's leader Anadolu Efes (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
