Very significant was Stevnsgade's (#1, 10-2) victory against second-ranked Virum (8-4) 71-47. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Virum. Stevnsgade dominated on the defensive end, holding Virum to just 7 points in second quarter. They held Virum to an opponent 23.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.4 percent accuracy of the winners. International guard Ida Pretzmann (178-90, college: TCU) scored 15 points and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Elisabeth Hansen (177-93) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Stevnsgade's coach Igor Gavrilovic felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Val Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Melissa Gilkey (185-92, college: Wash.-St.Louis) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Stevnsgade (10-2) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Newly promoted Virum keeps the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Lemvig. Stevnsgade are looking forward to face Lemvig (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Virum will play against Amager in Kastrup and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
