The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Haskovo 2012 (11-2) in Stara Zagora on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Beroe (7-6) 69-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Haskovo 2012. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 18-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard La'Keisha Sutton (175-90, college: S.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds. Her fellow American import forward Chastity Reed (185-89, college: UALR) contributed with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Lia Galdeira (180, college: Washington St.) answered with 26 points and 9 rebounds and Mali forward Meiya Tirera (186-86) added 11 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Haskovo 2012. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Beroe maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Haskovo 2012 at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Beroe are looking forward to face Levski (#6) in Sofia in the next round. Haskovo 2012 will play at home against Septemvri (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
