Regular Season Round 15: Istanbul BSB - Banvit BK 94-88 OT

Istanbul BSB (3-12) survived in overtime against Banvit BK (9-6) by six points 94-88. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Banvit BK won third quarter 16-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Banvit BK used huge pressure winning it 25-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 12-18. Istanbul BSB players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for Slovenian guard Jaka Klobucar (198-87) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri) contributed with 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Istanbul BSB players scored in double figures. American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: Beo Basket) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and French Adrien Moerman (202-88) added 21 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Banvit BK. Despite that victory Istanbul BSB went down to sixteenth position due to points difference. Banvit BK at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Karsiyaka and Darussafaka. Istanbul BSB will again play against higher ranked Banvit BK (#4) in Balikesir in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Banvit BK will have a break next round.
