Regular Season Round 14: Bamberg - Bad Aibling 46-81

2.Bundesliga top team - Fireballs (14-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (8-6) 81-46. The game without a history. Fireballs led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Don Bosco Bamberg's 28. Fireballs forced 21 Don Bosco Bamberg turnovers and outrebounded them 45-26 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fireballs players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Power forward Jessica Hootmann (190-85) scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman D'Asia Chambers (182, college: Slippery Rock) chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Fireballs players scored in double figures. American center Miranda Cantrell (183-93, college: Jacksonville St.) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Daniela Vogel (179-92) scored 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Don Bosco Bamberg's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Fireballs have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position in South with 14-0 record. Don Bosco Bamberg at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Fireballs will play against Wasserburg II (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Don Bosco Bamberg will play against Homburger TG and hopes to get back on the winning track.
