Important game to mention about took place in Plovdiv. Eighth ranked Academik Plovdiv (3-12) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Levski 2014 (5-10) 74-71 on Saturday evening. Levski 2014 was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Oscar Bellfield (187-90, college: UNLV) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 assists. Serbian power forward Bosko Jovovic (205-83) accounted for 26 points for the winning side. Four Academik Plovdiv players scored in double figures. The former international forward Stanislav Slaveykov (198-86) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Aleks Simeonov (200-93) added 19 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively for Levski 2014 in the defeat. Newly promoted Academik Plovdiv maintains eighth place with 3-12 record, which they share with Yambol. Levski 2014 at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Academik Plovdiv will play against higher ranked Rilski (#4) in Samokov in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Levski 2014 will play at home against Beroe and hopes to get back on the winning track.
