Regular Season Round 16: OKK Beograd - FMP 65-84

KLS top team - FMP (15-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked OKK Beograd (5-11) 84-65. The game was mostly controlled by FMP. OKK Beograd managed to win third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding OKK Beograd to just 6 points in second quarter. FMP looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by Stefan Lazarevic (197-96) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Dragan Apic (206-95) supported him with 15 points. Four FMP players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 9 rebounds by Andrija Bojic (207-93, agency: Beo Basket) did not help to save the game for OKK Beograd. Forward Zarko Valjarevic (193-91, college: Maine) added 12 points and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FMP have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. OKK Beograd lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Vojvodina. FMP will meet at home Napredak Rubin (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. OKK Beograd will play against Vojvodina (#13) in Novi Sad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
