The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Oradea as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Oradea edged 8th ranked CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu at home 65-62. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 14-10 charge of Oradea, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu to just 7 points in first quarter. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu will play next round against strong CSU Sibiu trying to get back on the winning streak. Oradea will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Pitesti on the road.
