Regular Season Round 15: Rostock - Hertener Loewen 95-79

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Hertener Loewen (7-8) was defeated on the road by third ranked Rostock (10-5) 95-79 on Sunday. Rostock dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Hertener Loewen's 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Matthew Hunter (196-90, college: Cent.Conn.St.) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Guard Sven Hellmann (187-83) chipped in 20 points. Rostock's coach Sebastian Wild used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard DeAndre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and forward Felix Neumann (201-90) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Four Rostock and five Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. Rostock have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Wolfenbuettel and Oldenburg. Loser Hertener Loewen keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Rostock will face AstroStars (#6) in Bochum in the next round. Hertener Loewen will play at home against SC Rist Wedel and hope to win that game.
