Regular Season Round 14: B.Loewen - TuSLi Berlin 60-61

Eleventh-ranked B.Loewen (1-12) used its home court advantage to challenge seventh ranked TuSLi Berlin (6-6). The visitors from Lichterfelde managed to secure only one-point victory 61-60. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as B.Loewen took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then TuSLi Berlin had a 14-6 second period charge getting the lead and B.Loewen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-61. TuSLi Berlin dominated on the defensive end, holding B.Loewen to just 6 points in second quarter. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Lena Gohlisch (173-93) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Kristin Greiner (169) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. American center Mackenzie Morrison (195, college: William & Mary) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and center Viktoria Jaeger (184) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. B.Loewen's coach Alexander Sauer tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TuSLi Berlin moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with Opladen. B.Loewen lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. TuSLi Berlin's next round opponent will be Wusterhausen (#10) at home.
