Not a big story in a game in Medias where 12th ranked Gaz Metan (2-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Craiova (10-6) 91-77 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 30-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Craiova made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Darius Hargrove (194-82, college: Virginia Union) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian guard Radenko Pilcevic (188-86) who added 21 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Craiova players scored in double figures. Craiova's coach Oliver Popovic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Belarusian-Russian Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-85) responded with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian Vaidotas Peciukas (199-82, college: Hawaii) scored 21 points. Craiova moved-up to fourth place, which they share with CSU Sibiu. Loser Gaz Metan stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Craiova will face CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#7) at home in the next round. Gaz Metan will play against Phoenix Galati (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
