Regular Season Round 12: Konjice - Hrastnik 90-74

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Konjice as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Konjice defeated 11th ranked Hrastnik at home 90-74. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Konjice's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-15 extending their advantage to 16 points. They made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Konjice forced 19 Hrastnik turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Hrastnik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Kristjan Muzel (194-91) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds and center Crt Lipovsek (194-88) who added 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Dejan Dunovic (193-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) with 30 points and 5 rebounds and guard Gasper Ovnik (190-82) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Five Konjice and four Hrastnik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Konjice (8-4) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Terme Olimia. Hrastnik at the other side keeps the eleventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Slovan. Hrastnik will play next round against Sezana trying to get back on the winning streak. Konjice will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Grosuplje in Grosuplje.
