Regular Season Round 16: Cherno More - Yambol 92-88

No shocking result in a game in Varna where sixth ranked Cherno More (9-7) defeated 9th ranked Yambol (3-13) 92-88 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Yambol won third quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cherno More looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Nikola Maravic (212-89, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds and guard Stanislav Tsonkov (192-91) who added 17 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Cherno More players scored in double figures. Cherno More's coach Spas Natov used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Serbian point guard Milijan Bocka (185-82) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 7 assists and power forward Denis Agre (205-88, college: Pepperdine) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Cherno More moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Spartak Pleven. Loser Yambol dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Akademik PL. Cherno More will meet league's leader Lukoil Acad. in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Yambol will play against Spartak Pleven (#5) and hope to secure a win.
