The game in Nevsehir supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Cankaya (9-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Nevsehir GHSIM (7-6). Cankaya smashed Nevsehir GHSIM 87-64 on Saturday. They outrebounded Nevsehir GHSIM 50-29 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cankaya shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American-Azerbaijani center Marcedes Marie Walker (191-86, college: Pittsburgh) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international forward Burcu Tasbas (178-89) chipped in 24 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side forward Gulnur Sandallioglu (187-87) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Esen Ozdemir (-89) scored 16 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Cankaya. They maintain third place in Group B with 9-3 record having just three points less than leader Ormanspor. Loser Nevsehir GHSIM keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Cankaya will face league's leader Mersin Basketbal at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nevsehir GHSIM will play against Bakospor (#12) in Gaziantep and hope to win that game.
