Regular Season Round 16: Gelistirenler - Hatay 69-87

Not a big story in a game in Istanbul where 9th ranked Gelistirenler (7-9) was defeated by second ranked Hatay (12-4) 87-69. Hatay players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists. It was a very good performance for Kazakhstan-Belarusian forward Katerina Snytsina (188-85) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Hatay's coach Ekin Bas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Megan Frazee (193-87, college: Liberty) replied with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian center Marija Rezan (198-89) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Gelistirenler. Five Hatay and four Gelistirenler players scored in double figures. Hatay have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-4 record behind leader Galatasaray, which they share with Fenerbahce and Abdullah Gul. Newly promoted Gelistirenler dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Hatay's next round opponent will be league's leader Galatasaray in Istanbul and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gelistirenler will play on the road against Abdullah Gul (#4) in Kayseri and hope to win that game.
