Regular Season Round 16: Noerdlingen - Saarlouis 83-77

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Giants (10-6) beat 11th ranked Saarlouis (5-11) in Noerdlingen 83-77 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Quite impressive performance for American forward Jordan Talbert (198-91, college: Missouri So.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Brandon Lockhart (185-90, college: Drury) contributed with 21 points and 9 assists for the winners. American forward Brennan McElroy (201-91, college: Indianapolis) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and Jimmy Peter Lauter (184-81) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Saarlouis. Four Giants and five Saarlouis players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Giants maintains third position in South with 10-6 record having just three points less than leader Iserlohn. Loser Saarlouis dropped to the tenth place with 11 games lost. Giants will face league's second-placed BG Karlsruhe on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saarlouis will play against USC Leipzig (#6) and hope to win that game.
