Regular Season Round 14: Guifoes - Esgueira 44-46

The most exciting game of round 14 in the Proliga took place in Guifoes. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Guifoes (6-8) to eighth ranked Esgueira / Oli (5-9) 46-44 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was center Andre Occhialini (193-93) who scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Samuel Loio (180-89) chipped in 7 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Paulo Sereno (197-96) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Pedro Meireless (193-95) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Guifoes' coach Nuno Filipe Gomes Freitas tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Esgueira / Oli moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Guifoes at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost.
