Regular Season Round 15: Amager - Virum 95-90 OT

Amager (7-6) survived in overtime against Virum (8-5) by five points 95-90 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 27-15 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 5-point victory in overtime. Amager made 29-of-38 free shots (76.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 30 Virum turnovers. Virum was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) who scored 44 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. American forward Portia Durrett (185-92, college: Oklahoma) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Amager's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Melissa Gilkey (185-92, college: Wash.-St.Louis) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and forward Nikoline Oestergaard (183-92, college: Quinnipiac) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists respectively. Five Virum players scored in double figures. Amager have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 7-6 record. Newly promoted Virum keeps the second position with five games lost. Amager will face Horsholm (#5) on the road in the next round. Virum will play against SISU and hope to win that game.
