Regular Season Round 15: TuSLi Berlin - Wusterhausen 69-58

Date: January 23, 2016
Rather predictable result in Lichterfelde where seventh ranked TuSLi Berlin (7-6) defeated 10th ranked Wusterhausen (1-12) 69-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TuSLi Berlin. Wusterhausen was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TuSLi Berlin made 7 blocks. Wusterhausen was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Lena Gohlisch (173-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds. Annalena Blume (180-96) helped adding 11 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American swingman Kelsey Harris (178-92, college: Cal-Davis) with 13 points and 4 assists and Canadian center Diane Schuetze (190-90) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. TuSLi Berlin moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Opladen. Wusterhausen lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. TuSLi Berlin will face Baskets Grunberg (#9) in Gruenberg in the next round. Wusterhausen will play on the road against B.Loewen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
