Regular Season Round 13: TED Ankara - Elazig 80-61

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Elazig (4-9) was outplayed on the road by fifth ranked TED Ankara (8-4) 80-61 on Sunday. Strangely Elazig outrebounded TED Ankara 45-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international center Melike Yalcinkaya (189-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and Canadian forward Kalisha Keane (185-89, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 20 points. TED Ankara's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: Indiana NW) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 21 rebounds and Busra Yuksel (-90) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for TED Ankara. They maintain fifth place in Group B with 8-4 record. Newly promoted Elazig keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. TED Ankara will face league's second-placed Osmaniye on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
