Regular Season Round 21: Satu Mare - Rapid 57-69

Bottom-ranked Satu Mare (0-21) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 69-57 loss to tenth ranked Rapid (2-19) in Satu Mare. Satu Mare was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 21-5 charge of Rapid, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Satu Mare to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Rapid dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Satu Mare's 26. They outrebounded Satu Mare 39-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Moldovan guard Natalia Burlakova (175-84) who led her team to a victory with 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Guard Monica Nicolaescu (167-83) contributed with 0 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Rapid's coach Dan Militaru allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Sonia Vilcinschi (175-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Alexandra Chitanu (174-95) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Satu Mare. Rapid maintains tenth place with 2-19 record. Satu Mare at the other side still closes the standings. Rapid will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Satu Mare will play on the road against Alba Iulia (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
