Regular Season Round 15: Infiz Basket - SC Kryvbas 79-86

Very expected game when 9th ranked Infiz Basket (2-19) lost to second ranked SC Kryvbas (17-4) in Kyiv 79-86 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-79. SC Kryvbas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Infiz Basket's 30. They outrebounded Infiz Basket 55-35 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. SC Kryvbas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for center Yevgen Vornik (209-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. The former international guard Oleksii Shchepkin (191-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Anton Musiyenko (191-97) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Andriy Lebedintsev (184-91) added 16 points and 7 assists in the effort for Infiz Basket. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for SC Kryvbas. Newly promoted SC Kryvbas maintains second place with 17-4 record behind leader Khimik. Infiz Basket lost their sixteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. SC Kryvbas will face Zaporizhya (#7) in Zaporozhye in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Infiz Basket will play at home against VolinBasket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
