Regular Season Round 16: Horsholm - Amager 68-70

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Dameligaen took place in Horsholm. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Horsholm (6-8) to fourth ranked Amager (8-6) 70-68 in the game for the fourth place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-18. But Horsholm won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Portia Durrett (185-92, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American center Ashley Ezeh (185, college: Texas St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and forward Line Piechnik (171-90) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Horsholm. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Amager have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 8-6 record. Defending champion Horsholm keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Amager are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Aabyhoj (#7) at home in the next round. Horsholm will play against the league's second-placed Virum and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
