There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Mersin Gelisim (4-10) beat at home 8th ranked Anadolu Univ. (5-9) 66-60. They outrebounded Anadolu Univ. 41-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. American center Leeza Burdgess (194-90, college: La Salle) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Doga Comba (185-94) supported her with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Stacia Robertson (188-92, college: High Point) did not help to save the game for Anadolu Univ.. Point guard Sevgi Uzun (170-97) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Mersin Gelisim moved-up to ninth place in Group A, which they share with Fenerbahce. Anadolu Univ. at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Mersin Gelisim's next round opponent will be higher ranked 55 Genclik (#4) in Samsun and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
