Regular Season Round 16: Sporting - Olivais 44-71

Date: January 30, 2016
The game with biggest result difference took place in Lisboa. Local Sporting (5-11) was outscored by tenth ranked Olivais (5-9) 71-44. Olivais forced 19 Sporting turnovers. The winners were led by American forward Brittany Hodges (185-93, college: Furman) who scored that evening 15 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Jasmine Crew (170-89, college: Seton Hall) supported her with 10 points, 6 assists and 7 steals. Four Olivais players scored in double figures. Olivais' coach Paulo Santos felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 4 points and 9 assists by international point guard Ines Faustino (170-92) did not help to save the game for Sporting. Senegalese center Bineta Ndoye (196-93, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks for lost side. Olivais moved-up to ninth place. Sporting lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Olivais' next round opponent will be league's second-placed GDESSA in Barreiro and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sporting will play at home against CD Torres N. (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
