Second Stage Round 6: Kondicioner - Politekhnika 75-72

Important game to mention about took place in Kharkov. Second ranked Kondicioner (2-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging bottom-ranked Politekhnika (0-3) 75-72 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Politekhnika won third quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Politekhnika 56-34 including a 25-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Alina Chashka (177-88) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Yulia Moskalets (180-81) supported her with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Kondicioner's coach Ludmila Schedriva allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks by power forward Viktoriya Babych (183-99) did not help to save the game for Politekhnika. Swingman Anastasia Kravets (173-95) added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Politekhnika players scored in double figures. Kondicioner maintains second position with 2-2 record behind leader Interkhim, which they share with Frankivsk. Politekhnika at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Kondicioner's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kharkov to the arena HAI.
