Regular Season Round 16: Demir IBB - Turk Telekom 64-70

An interesting game took place in Buyukcekmece where higher ranked Demir IBB (7-8) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked Turk Telekom (4-11) 70-64 on Saturday. Demir IBB was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 15-7 charge of Turk Telekom, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Demir IBB to just 7 points in fourth quarter. American guard Michael Jenkins (193-86, college: Winthrop) fired 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward Marcus Haislip (208-80, college: Tennessee) chipped in 14 points. American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) produced 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Turk Telekom maintains fifteenth position with 4-11 record. Newly promoted Demir IBB dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. Turk Telekom will meet at home higher ranked Karsiyaka (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Demir IBB will play against Istanbul BSB and hope to secure a win.
