The game between second ranked Balkan (14-3) and 7th ranked Levski 2014 (5-12) in Botevgrad on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Balkan outscored guests from Sofia 91-65. The game without a history. Balkan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Levski 2014's 22. They outrebounded Levski 2014 38-24 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian power forward Dusan Cvetkovic (205-89, agency: Beo Basket) nailed 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Martin Durchev (203-87, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Balkan players scored in double figures. Guard Evgeni Hadjirusev (193-95) came up with 9 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Stanislav Slaveykov (198-86) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Levski 2014 in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Balkan maintains second place with 14-3 record having just two points less than leader Lukoil Acad. Levski 2014 lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Balkan will meet Academik Plovdiv (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Levski 2014 will play against Yambol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
