Second Stage Round 1: Vasco - Dragon Force 66-68

The most exciting game of round 1 in the Proliga took place in Porto. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of Vasco (2-5) to Dragon Force (4-3) 68-66 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Vasco was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Vasco 44-26 including 17 on the offensive glass. Spanish guard Ferran Ventura Pedreno (188-95) fired 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Pedro Oliveira (179-97) chipped in 18 points. Forward Paulo Vieira (-94) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Miguel Toreia (180-93) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dragon Force are looking forward to face Illiabum in Ilhavo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vasco will play at home against Sangalhos (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
