Not a big story in a game in Prienai where 8th ranked P.Zvaigzdes (7-15) was defeated by sixth ranked Vytautas (11-12) 94-86 on Saturday. Vytautas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. P.Zvaigzdes was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) stepped up and scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Zygimantas Skucas (201-92) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Five Vytautas and four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. Vytautas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Lietkabelis and Neptunas. Loser P.Zvaigzdes dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. Vytautas will face Lietkabelis (#6) in Panevezys in the next round. P.Zvaigzdes will play on the road against Juventus in Utena and hope to win that game.
