Regular Season Round 20: Gotha - Chemnitz 76-72

Date: January 30, 2016
There was no surprise when 10th ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (9-11) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (14-6) 76-72 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Oettinger Rockets Gotha made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import power forward Delvon Johnson (206-89, college: Arkansas, agency: Priority Sports) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Nate Buss (206-92, college: N.Iowa, agency: SPORTlab Agency) responded with 25 points and 9 rebounds and center Martin Seiferth (208-90, college: E.Washington) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Oettinger Rockets Gotha have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 14-6 record. BV Chemnitz 99 lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Baunach. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will meet Gladiators (#7) in the next round. BV Chemnitz 99 will play against White Wings and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
