Rather expected game in Istanbul where 8th ranked Royal Hali (7-9) was crushed by sixth ranked Darussafaka (10-6) 90-65 on Sunday. Darussafaka dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Royal Hali's 20 and made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Royal Hali 38-24 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international power forward Furkan Aldemir (207-91, agency: Beo Basket) fired 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Reggie Redding (196-88, college: Villanova) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. Four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. American-Bulgarian guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana) produced 15 points and Canadian-American guard Andrew Rautins (193-86, college: Syracuse) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Darussafaka moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Karsiyaka and Banvit BK. Loser Royal Hali dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Darussafaka will meet league's leader Fenerbahce Ulker in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Royal Hali will play against Konyaspor (#13) and hope to secure a win.
