Regular Season Round 17: Ehingen - Wuerzburg 93-90

Eighth-ranked Wuerzburg (7-10) gave a tough game to first ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (14-3) in Allmendingen on Sunday. Ehingen/Urspringschule managed to secure only three-point victory 93-90. However their fans expected much easier game. Ehingen/Urspringschule looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Wuerzburg's players. American forward Daniel Berger (203-90, college: BYU-Hawaii) stepped up and scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Christopher Wolf (198-95) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Ehingen/Urspringschule players scored in double figures. Forward Felix Hoffmann (195-89) responded with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Travis Smith (190-91, college: Mercer) scored 20 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ehingen/Urspringschule have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place in South with 14-3 record. Wuerzburg lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Weissenhorn and Dresden. Ehingen/Urspringschule are looking forward to face Titans (#9) in Dresden in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Wuerzburg will play on the road against the league's second-placed BG Karlsruhe and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
