Regular Season Round 16: Konyaspor - Anadolu Efes 52-85
Date: February 1, 2016
BSL top team - Anadolu Efes (11-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Konyaspor (6-8) 85-52. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Konyaspor. The game without a history. Anadolu Efes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Konyaspor to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Konyaspor 44-19 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by French point guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: Beo Basket) who scored that evening 15 points and Uruguayan-Italian guard Jayson Granger (188-89) supported him with 13 points. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 16 points and 5 assists by American-Bosnian guard Ernest Bremer (194-80, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Higher Vision Sports) did not help to save the game for Konyaspor. The former international forward Valentin Pastal (204-84) added 10 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Anadolu Efes went down to second position due to points difference. Konyaspor at the other side dropped to the thirteenth place with eight games lost. Anadolu Efes will play against Galatasaray (#3) in Istanbul in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Konyaspor will play on the road against Royal Hali (#12) in Gaziantep and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
