Second Stage Round 3: Dunav 8806 - Neftochimic 96-77

The game between Top Four teams took place in Ruse. host Dunav 8806 (6-5) smashed Neftochimic (3-7) 96-77. The game was mostly controlled by Dunav 8806. Neftochimic managed to win third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Dunav 8806 outrebounded Neftochimic 42-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Gennifer Brandon (188-90, college: California) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 22 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international Violina Kocheva (175-91) helped adding 17 points and 9 assists. Five Dunav 8806 players scored in double figures. Dunav 8806's coach Georgi Bozhkov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Ukrainian guard Olena Samburska (173-89) with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Ukrainian power forward Olga Maznichenko (187-91, agency: LBM Management) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Dunav 8806 are looking forward to face Haskovo 2012 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Neftochimic will play against Montana 2003 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
