Regular Season Round 19: Pitesti - U-Banca TR 72-68

The game between third ranked U-Banca TR (13-5) and ninth ranked Pitesti (7-11) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. U-Banca TR was defeated by Pitesti in a tough game in Pitesti 68-72. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of U-Banca TR. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 20-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian center Alexandar Mladenovic (207-84, agency: BeoExcell) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Pitesti players scored in double figures. At the losing side Moldovan-Ukrainian Andrii Kalnichenko (201-86) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian-Bosnian point guard Filip Adamovic (181-88, agency: 011 Sports) scored 9 points and 7 assists. Pitesti maintains ninth place with 7-11 record, which they share with Phoenix Galati. U-Banca TR at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Oradea. Pitesti is looking forward to face higher ranked Steaua CSM (#6) in Bucuresti in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. U-Banca TR will play at home against Phoenix Galati (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
