Regular Season Round 17: Horsholm - Virum 65-66

The most exciting game of round 17 in the Dameligaen took place in Horsholm. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Horsholm (6-9) to second ranked Virum (10-5) 66-65 on Friday evening. Horsholm was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 21-15 charge of Virum, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Kyani White (170-92, college: Hampton) stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and her fellow American import forward Melissa Gilkey (185-92, college: Wash.-St.Louis) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. American center Ashley Ezeh (185, college: Texas St.) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and international swingman Frederikke Mollerup (177-95) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Four Horsholm players scored in double figures. Horsholm's coach Jose Vazquez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Virum maintains second place with 10-5 record having just one point less than leader Stevnsgade. Defending champion Horsholm keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Virum are looking forward to face league's leader Stevnsgade at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Horsholm will have a break next round.
