The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Baskets Grunberg's (6-10) home victory over 10th ranked B.Loewen (2-13) in Gruenberg 96-66 on Saturday. The game without a history. Baskets Grunberg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Baskets Grunberg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by B.Loewen's players. American forward Maria Blazejewski (185-91, college: L.Superior) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. Luana Rodefeld (172-97) contributed with 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Baskets Grunberg players scored in double figures. Center Viktoria Jaeger (184) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Jessica Freeman (163-91, college: N.C.Central) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for B.Loewen. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Baskets Grunberg maintains ninth place in North with 6-10 record. Newly promoted B.Loewen keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Baskets Grunberg will face Wusterhausen (#11) at home in the next round. B.Loewen will play against Veilchen in Goettingen and hope to win that game.
