No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Denizli (14-5) defeated at home 13th ranked Socar Petkim (7-12) 72-64. The hosts were already 15 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 19-12 Socar Petkim's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 72-64 at the end of the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Socar Petkim helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Mehmet Ozdogan (198-87) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Five Denizli players scored in double figures. American point guard Josh Selby (188-91, college: Kansas, agency: Ali Guney BA) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Canadian center Sean Denison (211-85, college: Santa Clara) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Socar Petkim in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Denizli moved-up to third place, which they share with Gediz. Socar Petkim at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Denizli's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Acibadem in Istanbul and it will be for sure the game of the week. Socar Petkim will play at home against Istanbul DSI (#18) and hope to win that game.
