Second Stage Round 2: Illiabum - Dragon Force 101-82

An exciting game was played in Ilhavo. Illiabum faced Dragon Force. Host Illiabum (8-0) smashed guests from Porto (4-4) 101-82. Illiabum shot 60.7 percent from the field. Strangely Dragon Force outrebounded Illiabum 35-18 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Dragon Force's players. International Augusto Sobrinho (188-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Angolan forward Sergio Correia (198-85) contributed with 24 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Illiabum players scored in double figures. Point guard Pedro Oliveira (179-97) replied with 29 points and 4 assists and Cape Verdean center Kevin Clay Gomes (209-95) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Dragon Force. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Illiabum will play against Atletico (#5) in Lisboa in the next round. Dragon Force will play at home against Sangalhos and hopes to get back on the winning track.
