Regular Season Round 16: SC Kryvbas - Zaporizhya 70-64

Very expected game in Kryvyi Rih where 7th ranked Zaporizhya (8-15) was defeated by second ranked SC Kryvbas (18-4) 70-64. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Zaporizhya was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a very good performance for international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists. Russian guard Artem Shchepkin (194-86) contributed with 12 points and 5 assists for the winners. Shchepkin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. SC Kryvbas' coach Valeriy Plehanov allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Stanislav Ovdeyenko (191-84) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Anton Buts (201-88) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Zaporizhya. SC Kryvbas have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted SC Kryvbas maintains second position with 18-4 record having just one point less than leader Khimik. Zaporizhya at the other side keeps the seventh place with 15 games lost. SC Kryvbas' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked VolinBasket (#9) in Lutsk and are hoping to win another game. Zaporizhya will play at home against VolinBasket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
