Regular Season Round 15: Bursa BSB - Cankaya 62-90

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Bursa BSB (3-12) was outleveled at home by third ranked Cankaya (11-3) 90-62 on Saturday. Cankaya dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Bursa BSB's 36. They outrebounded Bursa BSB 40-15 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cankaya looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Bursa BSB's players. It was a good game for American-Azerbaijani center Marcedes Marie Walker (191-86, college: Pittsburgh) who led her team to a victory with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international forward Burcu Tasbas (178-89) contributed with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Cankaya players scored in double figures. Cankaya had such big advantage that coach felt comfortable to give the chance to play for 10 players saving starting five for next games. Guard Seyma Kutun (170-93) answered with 18 points and the former international Didem Nakas (173-94) added 15 points in the effort for Bursa BSB. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Cankaya. They maintain third place in Group B with 11-3 record having just three points less than leader Ormanspor. Bursa BSB lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Cankaya will face Bakospor (#12) in Gaziantep in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bursa BSB will play on the road against TED Ankara and hope to win that game.
