Regular Season Round 21: Gaz Metan - Oradea 76-93

Liga Nationala top team - Oradea (16-5) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Gaz Metan (2-19) in Medias 93-76. The game without a history. Oradea led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 21 Gaz Metan turnovers. Oradea shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Sean Barnette (197-86, college: Wingate) nailed 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard William Franklin (184-85, college: Bradley, agency: 011 Sports) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Oradea's coach Cristian Achim used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Ionut Dragusin (221-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and Lithuanian center Robertas Grabauskas (208-90, college: Northwood) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Gaz Metan in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Oradea have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-5 record. Gaz Metan lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Oradea will meet at home CSU Sibiu (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gaz Metan will play against CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#7) and hope to secure a win.
