NBL round 5 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Haskovo 2012 (9-3) against second ranked Montana 2003 (9-3) 84-82 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Haskovo 2012. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Haskovo 2012 won fourth quarter 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Montana 2003 made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 6 assists. International forward Daniela Peteva (179-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Lia Galdeira (180, college: Washington St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and Mali forward Meiya Tirera (186-86) added 23 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Haskovo 2012. Montana 2003 have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Haskovo 2012. Haskovo 2012 will play next round against Beroe trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Montana 2003 will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Dunav 8806 in Ruse.
