Regular Season Round 20: Acibadem - Denizli 90-83

An interesting game for Acibadem (16-4) which hosted in Istanbul 3rd ranked Denizli (14-6). Second ranked Acibadem managed to get a 7-point victory 90-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Denizli. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-21. But Denizli won second period 26-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Acibadem made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Kerem Tunceri (191-79) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) who added 18 points and 10 assists during the contest. Four Acibadem players scored in double figures. American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida) responded with 31 points and his fellow American import center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Denizli's coach Hakan Yavuz let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Acibadem have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Acibadem maintains second position with 16-4 record having four points less than leader Tofas. Denizli at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Sakarya BSB. Acibadem's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Istanbul DSI.
