No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (11-7) won against at home 12th ranked Karlsruhe PS (2-16) 72-55 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Don Bosco Bamberg. Karlsruhe PS was better in second period 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Don Bosco Bamberg dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Karlsruhe PS's 32. Don Bosco Bamberg forced 25 Karlsruhe PS turnovers. American center Miranda Cantrell (183-93, college: Jacksonville St.) scored 24 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Daniela Vogel (179-92) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals during the contest. Don Bosco Bamberg's coach Ulf Schabacker used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was Leonie Lang (172) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Paulin Simon (170) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Don Bosco Bamberg moved-up to third place in South, which they share with Speyer. Karlsruhe PS lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Don Bosco Bamberg will face ASC Theresianum Mainz (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Karlsruhe PS will play against Wasserburg II and hope to win that game.
