Second Stage Round 7: LDUFK-Skif - Politekhnika 48-43

LDUFK-Skif can celebrate finally their first win this season.They used home court advantage to defeat Politekhnika (0-4) 48-43 on Saturday. Politekhnika trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 14-8 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 43-48 at the end of the game. LDUFK-Skif dominated on the defensive end, holding Politekhnika to just 7 points in second quarter. It was a great evening for center Kateryna Skakalina (185-97) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks (made all of her seven free throws). Point guard Romana Petrik (164-93) helped adding 10 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Viktoriya Babych (183-99) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Irina Petryshyn (172-91) scored 6 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. LDUFK-Skif (1-0) left bottom position moving up to fourth place. Loser Politekhnika still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Tavriyska Zivka. LDUFK-Skif will meet at home Poltavshina (#7) in the next round. Politekhnika will play against Poltavshina and hopes to get finally their first victory.
