Everything could happen in Afyonkarahisar at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Afyon and 10th ranked Pertevniyal had identical 8-11 record. This time Afyon used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Istanbul 91-74 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-74. Afyon dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Pertevniyal's 40. They outrebounded Pertevniyal 34-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. Four Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. Pertevniyal's coach Bilal Han Duru gave the chance to play for ten players seeing no chance for a win. Afyon (9-11) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Gelisim. Pertevniyal lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Afyon will face Meliksah (#12) in Kayseri in the next round. Pertevniyal will play at home against Socar Petkim and hope to win that game.
