Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Vienna (13-10) won against on the road 6th ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (10-14) 76-71 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 42-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Vienna shot 22 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Kapfenberg Bulls only scored six points from the stripe. Kapfenberg Bulls were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American-Bahamas forward Jonathan Fairell (201-93, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Croatian power forward Milan Stegnjaic (204-81) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and American swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: N.C.Central) added 7 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Kapfenberg Bulls. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vienna moved-up to third place. Kapfenberg Bulls at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. Vienna will face bottom-ranked UBSC Graz (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kapfenberg Bulls will play against Furstenfeld Panthers and hope to win that game.
